Browniebread Men
Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 25-30 minutes | Total Time: 40-45 minutes
Introduction:
This recipe was inspired by scrolling through TikTok and seeing festive gingerbread recipes everywhere. I wanted to make something similar but with a chocolaty twist, using ingredients I already had at home. The result? Browniebread Men! They're gooey, rich, and topped with a snowy sprinkle of powdered sugar. Perfect for holiday gatherings or just adding some seasonal cheer to your kitchen. Plus, they’re so easy and fun to make—who wouldn’t love brownies with a festive flair?
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar (granulated sugar works too)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup half and half
3/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.Mix the Wet Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and mix until fully incorporated.Add Eggs and Vanilla:
Stir in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and half and half. Mix until well combined.Incorporate the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Avoid overmixing.Bake:
Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).Cool and Shape:
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, use a gingerbread-shaped cookie cutter to cut out your Browniebread Men. Be gentle to preserve their shape.Decorate:
Sprinkle the brownie men with powdered sugar for a snowy effect. You can also get creative with icing or edible decorations to give them personality!
